Each clock is designed and made by nature and finished by hand. Due to the natural design each individual clock is unique and can't be copied, replicated or reproduced. These are not mass produced cheap MDF or chipboard tat from well known furniture stores, diy stores or home accessories outlets. They are made from solid wood such as birch, ash, pine, cherry, oak and other and are finished to a high standard. Each clock is as original and unique as the tree it came from.
Non of the wood used is sourced from live trees unless it is from tree pruning. It is collected from fallen trees, fire wood, and driftwood from beaches.
As the clocks are all made from natural logs and driftwood I can not take orders for specific designs or make copies of sold clocks. If you like it buy it because copies aren't available.Spalted wood.
Spalted wood is wood that has been discoloured by the effects of fungal action on the wood. Spalting usually occurs in dead wood but can also affect live wood under the right conditions. The fungus leaves attractive colourful patterns in the wood.The clocks are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of small children as with a bit of force the hands are removable and could be swallowed by children.I prefer people to see and touch the clock before they buy and as such I do not send clocks by courier and are for collection only. Payment is cash only. Local delivery could be possible.Two comments I often get are "I have nowhere to put it". My answer is put it on a table, window sill, shelf, wall scone or floor stand.
The other comment is "It doesn't fit my decor". These clocks are unique and are not meant to fit in with "regular" decor. They are a one-off piece that are meant to stand out from other decor and be a conversation piece........ I do not try to con people into buy things with just a lot of fancy photos, my photos just give an idea of what you are buying. I never sell to anyone who has not seen and touched the real object and therefore I do not send items through couriers. Items are collection only or possible local delivery. .........Reasons for not using couriers are:
1. I find them unreliable and they have no respect for any items they are delivering.
2. Some of the items are heavy and expensive to ship.
3. Packaging is nothing but waste that ends up blowing about the street or in land fill.
4. I would rather use my time collecting materials and making things than packing items.
5. I do not want to waste my time and money packing things only for someone to say it is not what they want and want to return it. If you collect it you know what you have bought but there is also no obligation for you to buy the item.
